In the meantime, to clarify matters, let us draw on the definitions provided by the European Commission, which certainly knows a thing or two about interpretation:

Consecutive interpreting takes place after the speaker has finished speaking, usually with the aid of notes. Suitable for meetings, presentations and company visits.

Simultaneous interpreting is performed while the person is speaking, using special equipment such as booths, headphones, and microphones. It is the season of major conferences and international conferences.

Whispered interpreting (or chuchotage) is when the interpreter sits or stands with the participants and interprets simultaneously and directly into their ears. Perfect for bilateral meetings or informal settings.
