About Jamendo

Active since 2005 and headquartered in Luxembourg, Jamendo is the industry-leading platform dedicated to independent musicians and the purchase of commercial licenses for background music broadcasting and multimedia production. It allows artists to upload their tracks and other users to purchase a commercial licence, as well as listen to and download them for free for personal use. The challenge

Until 2014, Jamendo’s international team provided the website translations internally, but since the periodic updates had become too frequent and voluminous, it decided to turn to Qabiria to outsource the translation service.

The solution

Qabiria was able to listen and adapt to Jamendo’s needs, establishing an open and transparent partnership from the very beginning. Drawing on the experience gained over the years in the field of web localization, Qabiria then selected the best linguists for this assignment, forming a team to respond quickly and positively to client requests, regardless of frequency or volume.

Qabiria was responsible for the translation and adaptation of Jamendo’s new website into German, Spanish, Italian, and Polish, the semiautomatic generation of about 500 specific pages for web optimization, including in English and French, and the translation of mailing and marketing campaigns and AdWords.

Then in May 2015, Jamendo also added Russian and Brazilian Portuguese to its multilingual offering, totaling between 40,000 and 65,000 words, depending on the target language.

The result

In an industry as fierce as music licensing, it is critical to meet the timeline for launching updates and new versions of the site. Starting in 2014, Qabiria made it possible for Jamendo to launch the various international versions of the site almost simultaneously.
