It’s a paradox, and we know it: linguists speak a language of their own, sometimes incomprehensible. But don’t worry: tell us what your case is and we will find the right person to edit your text.

To be precise, according to the ISO 17100 standard on the quality of translation services, we are talking about

editing (bilingual editing) to define “the bilingual analysis of the content of the target language text, carried out by comparing it with that in the source language to determine its suitability for the agreed purpose".

proofreading, on the other hand, is the correction of the translated text only.

So, this is the difference: editing is done on the bilingual text, if there’s any, or by comparing original text and translation, while proofreading is the analysis of the text in one language only.

Normal people call it correction, what the language teacher used to do with the red pen.

Monumental errors ✗

It would be better not to commit any. But we are human and sometimes mistakes slip through the cracks.

We’ll let you in on a “secret”: you don’t have an obligation to write everything you have to write. There are (somewhat masochistic) people who are happy to do it for you. We are among them. Don’t jeopardise your company’s image by publishing texts with typos, spelling mistakes or, even worse, with lame consecutive or subjunctive clauses.
