Whether we want it or not, artificial intelligence, the so-called AI, is now part of our lives. It’s in our search engines, social networks, e-mails... and, of course, in writing as well. So, why not use it to perfect content writing?
Today, AI-based tools help us to write faster, with better structure and, in many cases, with less effort. It’s not just about smart spellcheckers or assistants to avoid repetition: we are talking about tools that can write complete paragraphs, rewrite text, generate ideas for articles, or adapt the tone according to the type of audience.
Unlike the writing tools seen in my previous article, most of these solutions work because of language models such as GPT-4, developed by OpenAI and other labs, which have learned how to generate text from millions of examples.
The GPT-4 uses deep learning, a set of advanced techniques and systems that, in contrast to machine learning (employed by some of the writing tools commented on in the article 7 tools for writing better in English), allows machines to learn in total autonomy through structures, or rather algorithms, that simulate the way the brain works.
In a nutshell, the language model applied to the tools listed here uses deep learning to generate text similar to what might be written by a person.
The tools based on GPT-4 and in general on artificial intelligence systems therefore allow to:
- draft complete texts from an idea or title
- rewrite or summarize a text in a different style or length
- generate titles, call-to-action, product descriptions
- help you write emails, blog posts, social media posts, or scripts for videos
Who can benefit from these tools? Anyone who needs to write, publish or communicate on a daily basis:
- Entrepreneurs with little time to draft content
- Marketers who need to generate multiple versions of an ad
- Social media managers who want to increase their output
- Bloggers or content creators looking for new ideas
AI does not replace your voice, but it can be an excellent ally in speeding up the process, overcoming creative blocks, and improving the quality of what you publish.
Can't wait to get to work? All that’s left is for us to go and discover the best AI-based tools and to see their features.

The program presents various features: can create a draft simply by setting the text format; thanks to the “write for me” button can replace you in the writing of your content; with simple commands it is able to lengthen, shorten or rewrite your sentences and you can even order the application what to write.
Price: offers two paid plans: one annual $65/month (with the first two months free) and one monthly $79.
Pro and Cons: excellent quality of the generated texts and the possibility of creating unlimited content; it also has an easy-to-use interface, allows you to take a free trial and download the app for mobile devices, but it has no browser extensions and you can’t choose the language and tone (only the length of the text), in addition to the fact that the price is on the high end compared to the competition.
Final verdict: definitely a great tool for those who need inspiration for their texts, but with less functionality than other writing tools on the market; is not as efficient when it comes to content marketing, which is the writing of content aimed at attracting the audience to a certain product or service.
2. Jasper (former Conversion.ai)
What it is and how it works: Jasper is an artificial intelligence-based software that generates any kind of high-quality content, particularly in the area of digital marketing, so SEO-optimized blog articles. This means that the program is capable of generating keyword-rich texts that will appear among the first results on Google and therefore get more views.
Just like Shortly AI, it can replace you in writing, but it can also convert your texts into voice in any of the supported languages, giving you the ability to change accents and dialects.
Also, thanks to the tool called Surfer SEO, which can be integrated during the trial period, Jasper can automatically create content for your blog.
Price: offers two paid plans, $39 or $59 per month (with annual subscription) with a one-week free trial.
Pro and Cons: is available in more than 11 languages, has excellent grammar and an easy-to-use interface, can change the tone of speech with the inclusion of keywords, allows you to create unlimited content that can be translated into about 100 languages, offers more than 40 templates and is capable of monitoring social networks and examine reviews written on various sites, including Amazon.
Final verdict: despite being more expensive than other AI tools for writing, it can be considered the best around and, unlike Shortly AI, is particularly efficient in creating original and catchy material for promoting products or services.
3. Nichesss
What it is and how it works: Nichesss is an AI-based content writing tool that creates unique and optimized content in seconds, regardless of the communication channel. In fact, it is not only able to generate innovative articles for social media, texts or introductions for blogs or newsletters, but it can even suggest ideas for YouTube videos, regardless of the audience you are targeting, giving you title and keywords and telling you what topics to address, as well as finding promising niche markets for your business based on a number of indicators. Also, it can generate eye-catching emails to promote your projects or original texts to increase sales.
Price: is available for $19, $39 or $99 per month, depending on the subscription
Pro and Cons: is more than just an AI writing tool, since it comes with various features that set it apart from other competitors, it is very affordable, plus it offers a free trial. On the other hand, the interface is a bit dated and provides too many templates that might discourage those who prefer to use simple software.
Final verdict: despite these minor flaws, Nichesss is an excellent tool for those interested in promoting their business and strengthen the trust of their target audience, given the cost and versatility of the functions offered that allow you to create innovative material whatever your content marketing strategy.
4. Writesonic
What it is and how it works: Writesonic, like the other tools seen so far, uses artificial intelligence to automatically write a variety of high-quality content. The various functions available include the ability to generate articles, ideas and introductions for blogs, emails, digital ads (for example on Facebook or Google), product and service descriptions and pages for websites, as well as offering you business solutions and ideas for your YouTube videos, just like Nichesss. Price: offers 5 subscription levels, starting at $16 per month, up to $399.
Pro and Cons: it is easy to use, supports a wide variety of styles and languages, is great for not too long texts and offers free trial for all available plans. However, the main disadvantage is that it is not able to do in-depth research by drawing from different sources, and therefore, for more detailed material, you need to review the content.
Final verdict: the impossibility of having totally accurate texts penalizes the tool, but it is still recommended for content writing related to the promotion of products and services, especially beneficial for digital marketers, bloggers, advertising agencies and e-commerce brands.
5. Copy.AI
What it is and how it works: Copy.AI is one of the best AI writing tools for digital marketers and entrepreneurs who want to speed up their copywriting processes, in fact it specializes in generating content for websites, sales letters and social media. He is primarily responsible for creating content for blogs (including automatically created sections from a list), descriptions of products and services, posts and announcements for various social platforms, emails, and innovative solutions and ideas for your business.
It works pretty much the same as Writesonic: select the type of content, add a description of the product or service and finally edit the resulting text (10 are generated at a time).
Price: offers one completely free and unlimited subscription, or two subscriptions of $49 do $249 per month.

The cost of subscriptions is on the high end. Usually, lyrics need a major overhaul, just like Writesonic.
Final verdict: is very suitable for copywriting, especially for marketers and content creators, but it can also be used to improve writing in general, for example to simplify sentences, write an effective cover letter or even greeting cards.
6. CrawlQ AI
What it is and how it works: CrawlQ AI is an artificial intelligence-based copywriting tool that has the ultimate goal of finding or strengthening your target audience by generating highly customizable material. So it’s a new solution, slightly different from the tools seen previously, focused primarily on business. In fact, through a wide range of services, such as market research, automatic content generation and search engine optimization (SEO), create tailored texts that meet the needs of your customers, allowing you to stand out from the various competitors.
In terms of operation, you have a lot of options available, each of which will be able to generate different content from each other, just to adapt it as much as possible to your target audience according to your business idea.
Price: offers 6 paid plans of $39, $79, $149, $269, $499 per month and one customisable plan for unlimited users.
Pro and Cons: the main advantage of this tool is certainly represented by the infinite variety of functions for a maximum customisation and optimisation of the generated texts, however, you can not overlook the various shortcomings that would make this AI writing tool impeccable, such as the complexity of the interface, whose operation is really difficult to understand, the frequent stops of the website, the inaccurate grammar, the need to verify the veracity of the content related to some topics and the lack of a free trial.
Final verdict: is aimed primarily at those who want to strengthen their brand and is in fact the best solution for product managers and those who deal with marketing and software-as-a-service, or services that can be used online without the need to install any program.
7. WriterZen
What it is and how it works: WriterZen is also an artificial intelligence-based content writing tool and, in the same way as CrawlQ AI, its main purpose is to help you strengthen your business through engaging and original texts. It’s very similar to CrawlQ AI, as the two tools have several features in common, such as in-depth keyword and content research relevant to your target audience and SEO optimization. The program is essentially based on three services: “topic discovery”, to find the ideal topic for your next blog post; “content creator”, for the generation of content (of any type) and the management of it, from the moment of writing to publication and tracking to monitor their positioning on the network; “keyword explorer”, to search for keywords targeted to your target audience.
Price: there are 3 paid monthly plans ($39, $59 and $99) and 3 annual plans ($27, $41 and $69 per month) available.
Pro and Cons: it has an easy-to-use interface, the keyword search feature is one of the best around, and it offers a free trial and excellent support if you need assistance. However, it has downsides, such as the fact that the “content creator” function and the plagiarism detector need some improvement and the lack of paid plans with unlimited functionality.
Final verdict: is ideal for beginners who want to use Writerzen for keyword research, but it can be used by professionals as well as large companies with various departments working on the same project, since, thanks to the variety of functions offered, it is possible to monitor contents from creation to the final stage of publication and tracking.
8. Wordtune
What it is and how it works: Wordtune is an AI-based tool that’s much simpler than the last two writing tools we’ve seen, because it’s primarily concerned with simplifying writing by making it more engaging and original. It has five main features: two related to text transformation, to shorten or lengthen sentences without changing their meaning; two others to modify the tone to be used, formal or informal, and a very interesting one, called “word finder”, which suggests the most appropriate words to add to a certain term. Besides, it supports as many as 9 languages, from which you can translate your text into English and can be used on a variety of applications, such as Gmail, Google Docs, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Outlook and Whatsapp (desktop only).
Price: it offers the Chrome extension and a free version, as well as two paid plans, one for $9.99 per month and the other customizable, designed for teams and with full unlimited functionality.
Pro and Cons: is very intuitive and accurate, offers a free trial and immediate support, as well as the fact that it supports 9 languages and different platforms, but sometimes it changes (or misunderstands) the meaning of sentences to add more information or convey a certain message.
Final verdict: I would recommend it for use at a personal level, for example to write emails or posts on social media or communicate with colleagues, and not for those who work seriously in the field of content writing, precisely because it has some features, which although effective, are very basic and practically integrated into the tools we have already seen. The simplicity of this writing tool is also demonstrated by its very affordable price.
9. Headlime
What it is and how it works: Headlime is yet another artificial intelligence-based writing tool, used in particular to create high-quality content for advertising, thus in the aforementioned content marketing strategy, to promote products and services and find new customers.
Not only can he write original articles and posts for blogs or sites, but he can also perform an analysis of the audience viewing your content. Besides, it is possible to automate the process of creating documents, generating various versions of the same document. When inspiration is lacking, the tool offers examples of style, design and text broken down by category and refreshed weekly. Finally, thanks to almost 2000 different templates, you’ll just have to choose the most suitable one and modify the variables in the text editor to get attractive contents in no time.
Price: two paid plans are available: one for $59 per month, ideal for personal use, and the other for $399 per month, designed for large companies and agencies.
Pro and Cons: offers a free trial and a huge variety of templates, headers, footers and color palettes, is available in multiple languages, has an easy-to-use interface that simplifies collaboration between team members, provides error-free content, regularly updates its functionality and allows you to download content in CSV, TXT and Word formats.
Final verdict: the price justifies the completeness of the software and is therefore definitely recommended. It is suitable for everyone, whether for personal or business use, but mainly in the content marketing industry.
10. UseTopic
What it is and how it works: UseTopic is an AI writing tool that simplifies and speeds up the content creation process by providing text suggestions based on the characteristics of the target audience. All this is possible thanks to several features, including one that proposes key topics to talk about in the text by analysing the most used keywords on the Internet and then allowing you to position yourself among the top results. It can also present the main discussion points on a certain topic (outline) so as to help you write the perfect article. In addition, UseTopic can give you feedback on your writing, including the degree of readability, and allows you to check if a post is optimised for search engines (SEO), indicating, if not, what part of the text should be rewritten or the key points that have not been addressed.
Price: offers three pay-as-you-go plans of $99, $199 and $299 per month. If you decide to pay annually, you can get a 20% discount on all subscriptions.
Pro and Cons: is available in 5 languages, has an intuitive interface that allows you to start from scratch without any problem, and most importantly, allows you to share access to the content grader feature, which gives feedback on your writing, with everyone involved in the content creation process in your team. However, it doesn't offer a free trial or unlimited paid plans, and the drag and drop feature needs some tweaking.
Final verdict: considering the price, this tool is especially suitable for companies, especially if you want to make group work on content writing more efficient. Note that this tool is not only limited to one type of content, but can also be used for presentations, sales letters, press releases and much more.
As it turns out, the market is very crowded and many of these tools look similar to each other, with similar functions. My prediction is that many of these tools will not last long, and we will soon see mergers and acquisitions that will reduce this crowding, as has happened at other times with other tools that leveraged innovative common technology.
On the cost side, keep in mind that some of the tools mentioned, in their effort to acquire customers quickly, decide to offer LTD licenses, i.e. lifetime deal, or perpetual subscriptions, with no expiration date. One of the sites on which these offers appear is AppSumo. By visiting him from this affiliate link you will get $10 off your first product purchase. Considering that the average price of an LTD license is around $70, this is an offer not to be missed.
You have no more excuses: if you’ve always been skeptical about artificial intelligence, now is a good time to reconsider your opinion. With the AI writing tools just outlined, you’ll be able to get your message across the way you’ve always dreamed of, whether you’re a blogger, a marketing expert, or just need to make posts on your social networks.
